It all started back in January 2017 when…
We opened the first Brut Cake Cafe (now Brut Eatery) with designer Nicole Teng on the historic and artistic Yuyuan Lu in Shanghai, China.
Jun was the chef creating unique dishes and running the kitchen, while Priscilla welcomed guests with warm hospitality.
We nurtured this petite eatery like our own child, as it grew to become a community hangout for friends and families.
We survived the covid. Now there are 10 locations in Shanghai, 1 in Nanjing and 1 in Chengdu, and still expanding.
In the responsible hands of CFB China Group, in 2021, we sold all our shares to Optimus Capital. Jun remained Brut Eatery’s Head Chef, in charge of all researches and developments.
We are growing, but some things remain the same…
We started as a Californian fast casual restaurant, and gradually evolved into a bistro. Our menu has extensively grown, serving items beyond brunch and coffee. Our services now cover all of your daily needs, whether it’s a quick breakfast in the morning, a casual business lunch, happy hour after work, or a gathering with a group of friends for food and wine.
Our culinary philosophy has never changed: Western cuisine infused with an eastern soul, serving nostalgic dishes with a touch of innovation.
It takes more than just great food to make a restaurant successful…
We are proud to have a wonderfully responsible and considerate team that cares about Brut Eatery as much as we do.
We strongly believe a restaurant relies heavily on service to develop a sustainable, loyal relationship with customers. We encourage our staff to build a community with their shops, an environment that is welcoming to all people. It makes us smile when we see an old gentleman reading his newspaper at the communal table, a young entrepreneur writing up a proposal on her laptop, and friends sharing a meal together - all happening in the same dining room. It is this comfort that we have been consciously maintaining that brings people back to Brut Eatery.
Time to flex some muscles
